Easter is coming and one thing on our minds every year is how to fill our little one's Easter basket. You want them to be colorful and fun, with a plenty of stuff they will love (and actually use).
I grew up with big family gatherings during Easter where we looked for those colorful hidden eggs and special surprise from my parents so I definitely want our children to be as excited about it as I was.
Being a Military family those big gatherings have turned into small celebrations but celebrations nontheless.
Yes we decorate eggs, stuff eggs with sweets or small cute little things and have an Easter egg hunt.
We are big on Easter baskets as well and I tend to make them fun yet useful for our now toddler. We keep candy off our baskets. Most likely you will attend an event where your Easter Egg hunt has plenty of sweets so no need to make it double. By the end of your busy Easter Sunday you will be tired and the last thing you need is for your little bunnies to be bouncing off the walls.
I came up with a list of my favorite things to fill our Easter baskets with. Of course you know your little ones better and will choose items that go with their likes and personalities.
Here are my favorite non-candy items to make Easter extra special~

Some of these you can find at the dollar spot at Target Stores or at stores like Walmart at more affordable prices. You can also check Old Navy for cute apparel and flip flops. Gift cards for your teenagers should be something that they can enjoy with or without you like going to the movies or Dave and Busters. You can also find a great magazine and book selection at Target where some book cover prices 20% off or more. For Earbuds I recommend www.skullcandy.com for great quality and affordable ear buds.
For lovely hair bows for your toddlers check out a Military Spouse small shop www.pineappleparadisebowtique.bigcartel.com and for adorable accessories check out www.hayvakidsco.com
So many ideas and lot of fun ways to fill your kid's Easter basket.
Hope this helps you!
