Colorful learning

Spring break has started and we have been busy working on our new learning schedule.

It is always great when you can find learning activities around the house with items you already have or inexpensive things you can get at the store.

This week we tackled colors! Color recognition, naming and sorting. This activity is for toddlers however you can make it a bit harder by adding more colors for your older kids.

You will need the following:

-Egg carton

-Washable Paint

-Food Pouches caps (if you have older kids you can use buttons or pom pom balls)

-Paint brush

- Ziplock bag

.....

Start by curting the egg carton in half. Then depending on the color of caps you have handy you will paint each space on the egg carton a different color. This is something you can do with your kids, let them paint each space.

We use the Plum food pouches and had 6 colors so I repeated colors on the dozen egg carton.

Let it dry for about 10 minutes.

Keep the caps in a ziplock bag and have your little one store them away when done.

....

We have been using our activity throughout the day, naming the colors before matching it to where it is going.

Hope you can try it at home and let me know how you love it!
